Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity of Salvia stepposa Extracts Isolated using Microwave Extraction, Growing Wild in Kazakhstan

The studies on antibacterial activity of 16 samples Salvia stepposa (steppe sage) ethanolic extracts, an indigenous plant Central Kazakhstan, against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 6538), Bacillus subtilis 6633), Escherichia coli 25922), Candida albicans 10231) were assayed. Leaves and flowers extracted by ethanol 30, 40, 70 90 % using conventional microwave extraction. Antibacterial screening performed disc-diffusion method was conducted, the concentration all extracts 100 mg/mL. results revealed that highest have leaves extract steppe sage in solvents except leaf extract. only showed strains microorganisms used is 40 with growth inhibition zones for 23.5 0.65 mm, 38 1.3 16.5 1.72 2.6 respectively. Was found obtained under irradiation has lowest activity. MIC values tested evaluated too.
